Using Drawings to Show Understanding

Image
In French class we try to avoid using English wherever possible when showing understanding.  That's why students are often asked to draw a phrase or sentence they see written or hear spoken to them.  Not too long ago we used mini whiteboards to accomplish, but now that every student has a device, students complete their drawings right on their devices on sites such as Nearpod and Classkick.  The goal is not to create museum-worthy artwork, but demonstrate an understanding of the content without using English.  Here are some excellent examples!
