Final French Club Meeting

Image
We had our final French Club meeting of the year today!  We enjoyed authentic French limonade varieties (pictured left), meringues, croissants, homemade tuiles, and other goodies.  We discussed what we want to do again next year and what new things we'd like to do.  For those of you who participated in French Club this year, I hope to see you back again next year, and be sure to tell your classmates who might be interested in joining.  The more the merrier!

Qui suis-je ?

You did a fantastic job on your "Qui suis-je" project, where you learned about a famous French person and wrote about them.  See if you can figure out who the people below are (each set of 2 goes together): Answers:  Claude Monet, Edith Piaf, Marie-Antoinette, Jacques Cousteau, Auguste Lumière, Christian Dior

French Club May Meeting

Today was our last official French Club meeting for the year! There will be a celebration next month for students who have attended 5 or more meetings. Today we made cards for French-speaking patients in the Montreal Children's Hospital. Thank you to everyone who participated in French Club this year!

Recently we received letters from our pen pals in Dammarie-lès-Lys, France.  Today we wrote our final response back.  Here are some photos of students reading their letters!

Une collaboration: Club Français et Club d'Art !

Image
Back in March, the Artists Who Care Club and the French Club teamed up to recreate an impressionist painting by Georges Seurat.  The painting took most of the month to complete and is now hanging in the band/orchestra/art hallway for all passersby to enjoy.  Here are some pictures of the making of the painting and the finished product.  Thanks to Miss DeSio who taught everyone this technique (and whose room we met in!).   The finished product:   What it looks like up close:
