Les élections en France
Before Americans cast their ballots for president this fall, the French will cast theirs in April for their president. The French vote for president every five years. The current president, Nicolas Sarkozy (above left) is the front runner from his party, the Union pour un Mouvement Populaire (UMP), and François Hollande (above right) is the front runner from the French socialist party. What you may find interesting is that, while there is very little coverage of French elections in the U.S. media, American presidential elections are covered quite well in France (and the rest of the world). Below you will find some resources in English and in French to get you more acquainted with the candidates.
