Les parties du corps

Image
Learning the parts of the body is always a fun endeavor in French.  Here are some of the activities we did. Students listened for my commands and drew a monster based on my description!  Some students got to come up to the SMART Board to try it, while others did it on their devices. In this class, students had their devices turned away from them as they drew the body parts I announced without looking, resulting in some pretty funny creations! Students created crazy creatures and labeled the parts of the body in French!

Les crêpes !

Image
On Friday, February 1, we had crêpes in class to celebrate la Chandeleur, a French holiday similar to Groundhog Day that takes place on February 2.  Check out the photos below! Thanks to Mrs. Slye who brought in bananas to put in the crêpes! Mmmm, Nutella! Mmm, lemon curd! Students enjoying their crêpes! A crêpe about to be eaten. Délicieux ! After eating crêpes, students tried flipping crêpes, as is the French tradition on Chandeleur. A student ready to eat her crêpe ! A jumbo jar of Nutella! More crêpe flipping! Many thanks to the parent volunteers who came in to help!
