Les mini-dicos !

Image
I enjoyed looking at your beautiful mini-dicos today.  Be sure to keep them at the front of your binder!  It's important to review old and new vocabulary, especially as we begin our third unit (Unité 3).  You will start to see old words used in new ways as we begin to create more sophisticated sentences. Don't forget that another great place to review vocabulary is by playing the games and activities linked on my Edline page.  Resources are categorized and subcategorized by the Unité and Leçon they are in (Introductory Resources, Unité 1 Resources, Unité 2 Resources).

Les élections en France

Image
Before Americans cast their ballots for president this fall, the French will cast theirs in April for their president.  The French vote for president every five years.  The current president, Nicolas Sarkozy (above left) is the front runner from his party, the Union pour un Mouvement Populaire (UMP), and François Hollande (above right) is the front runner from the French socialist party.  What you may find interesting is that, while there is very little coverage of French elections in the U.S. media, American presidential elections are covered quite well in France (and the rest of the world).  Below you will find some resources in English and in French to get you more acquainted with the candidates. An article about the candidates' Facebook pages Qui est Français Hollande ? Bonne année !

Bonne année and welcome to the French 7 blog!  In honor of "The Adventures of Tintin"'s theatrical release, this post is about Tintin.  Tintin is a 15-year-old Belgian journalist who first appeared in comic books created by Hergé, followed by a television series and now a feature film.  He is always accompanied by his dog Milou (Snowy in English) who helps him solve mysteries.  If you're planning to go see the Tintin movie in theaters, you may wish to do a little research on the character beforehand.  Here are some fun sites in French for you to explore!
