Dessinez un établissement

Image
This is one of my favorite assignments of the year, because I love seeing all the little details in each of the stores!  Look at all the patisseries, boulangeries, glaciers, and restaurants!  Please excuse the white boxes, as last names have been covered for privacy purposes.

French Club Help for Haiti Fundraiser

Image
The French Club collected donations from students and faculty outside the cafeteria as well as friends and family outside of school, all to be given to UNICEF, to benefit the children of Haiti.  Thanks to the generous contributions of French Club members, students, parents, faculty, and community members, we raised over $500 !  This wouldn't have been possible without the help of parents, teachers, and students, who sat outside the cafeteria asking folks for donations.  Your help is much appreciated!  Below are some photos of students who participated in the fundraiser.

Second French Club Meeting

Image
Our second French club meeting was a success!  First we introduced our officers.  Pictured from left to right are our treasurer, our secretary, our vice president, and our president.  Not pictured is our historian.  Names are kept anonymous on the blog, but I'm sure you can recognize your classmates! Next we organized a fundraiser to benefit the children of Haiti.  Haiti is a French-speaking country in the Caribbean that had a devastating earthquake in 2010, and the people of Haiti are still looking for our support to help rebuild.  If you are interested in making a donation, please stop by and see us outside the cafeteria during lunch periods Thursday, November 14 and Friday, November 15.

La semaine du français (National French Week)

Image
We concluded National French Week today by sampling foods from all over the French speaking world today.  Some of the things students brought in were croissants, choco fondant, meringues, madeleines, nutella, baguette bread, blueberry clafoutis, and Brie cheese.
